Coming this Thursday, October 17, Uptown East will be having an international taste festival known as the Taste of Uptown. It’s a can’t miss event. Valpo’s best restaurant talents will be serving up free food, and there’s a chance you can win big…

5.) Live music
The Taste of Uptown is going to be huge. When you come, prepare to hear some phenomenal performers.
International virtuoso guitarist Marco Villarreal and Chicago’s Steve Ball of Mr. Blotto will be entertaining the crowds this night. After you hear them, you won’t want to leave. That’s good, stay all 2 hours of the event and enjoy the professional concert.
4.) Have a chance to win free prizes
As you’re listening to Marco play the guitar, imagine you all of a sudden hear your name called as it gets picked out of a hat. It’ll be as simple as that, and there will be plenty of opportunities to win. Downtown restaurants will be giving away free dinner certificates, Griegers will be giving away a free oil change, and there will be more when you get there.
3.) Free Food
It’s really hard to believe that getting limitless food from Valparaiso’s best restaurants isn’t number one on the list. It makes you wonder. But anyways…
Don Quijote, Sage, Radius, Furin Japanese, Blue Point, and Pikk’s Tavern will be there to spoil you with some real authentic international cuisine. Carlos Rivero from Don Quijote will even be showing off his chef skills as he publicly cooks paella on the world’s largest paella pan. It’s going to be hot.

If you’ve ever considered traveling abroad, this one’s for you. At the Taste of Uptown, there will be signups for the Don Quijote Scholarship Fund, and the winner will be announced on December 8th.
The scholarship will take care of your expenses if you want to travel abroad to a Spanish-speaking country. You can thank Don Quijote later when you get to live out your dream on someone else’s dime.

Now this is worth looking at. Uptown East is going to be having a drawing for everyone who attends the Taste of Uptown. If you qualify, attend the event, and get lucky with the drawing, you’ll be living like royalty in your 1 bedroom apartment next year. Rent will be free of charge, and you’ll be experiencing bliss.

You can meet their CEO and get some great insight on what they stand for. Perhaps you can even change lives by volunteering for them.
